Poetry: Power of the voice who stutter

The Power of Words: Poetry Competition – ISAD 2025

“A Diverse Stuttering Community: Meeting Challenges with Strength,”

As part of our International Stuttering Awareness Day 2025 celebration themed “A Diverse Stuttering Community: Meeting Challenges with Strength,” we hosted a poetry competition to showcase the creativity, resilience, and authenticity of people who stutter and allies who advocate for inclusion.

Poetry, with its rhythm and emotion, mirrors the unique cadence of stuttering, reminding us that every voice, no matter how it sounds, carries beauty and power. Through this segment, participants transformed their experiences and reflections into moving verses that celebrate courage, identity, and hope.

From dozens of heartfelt entries, three outstanding poems were selected as the winning pieces, each capturing the essence of self-expression and the strength within our diverse community.

We are proud to share these winning poems, voices that continue to inspire, empower, and remind us that fluency is not the measure of value, but expression is.
